"We had a major rehab project with a newly purchased 1959 block constructed home. At the recommendation of a neighbor, we included Mr. Ray Crapps with three other requested quotes. Mr. Crapps' estimate was not the lowest, nor the highest, quote; but it was unquestionably the most thorough. He did his homework and even came back for a second look at the house before completing his proposal. This involved more than $10,000 of work, exclusive of the many fixture and other materials which we purchased.
The scope of the work involved: replacing a circuit breaker box and moving it from outdoors to inside; reconnecting the house to the power pole; redoing most of the lighting (with new fixtures, and often new locations); adding or replacing outdoor lighting; wiring a relocated kitchen and a reconfigured bathroom; adding lights to the crawl space and an attic; replacing the original 2-prong outlets with 3-prong GFI outlets; and lots of little things like the doorbell.
Throughout the length of the project, Mr. Crapps would carefully consider aspects of the job and propose beneficial changes (without added cost to us). He never made changes without consulting us. He knew what he was doing and always kept our relationship professional, and was a gentleman in all our dealings. We trusted Mr. Crapps and very often he was at the house by himself, turning the door buttons to lock on leaving. We had lots of questions, which may have been annoying, but he dealt with knowledge and grace.
We have recommended him to others, and would rehire him without reservation, to install a simple fan, or to
provide an emergency power supply."
